Prenatal Support

Prenatal Sessions

Prenatal sessions are 1-2 hour educational visits that can be virtual or in-person. These sessions are similar to prenatal visits offered in birth doula packages. They are a great way to prepare for birth without the commitment of contracting a birth doula. It’s also time you and your partner can set aside to discuss your hopes for your birth. The goal for these sessions is to educate and prepare you and your partner, so that you can feel confident and empowered for your birth.

Comfort Measures

This session is all about how to keep you as comfortable as possible during labor. During this session you and your partner will learn:

  • The five components of labor and birth

  • The 3 R’s

  • What to expect during each stage of labor

  • Techniques and tools for keeping you comfortable

  • Position options

We’ll also do some hands-on learning, so your partner can practice techniques like counter pressure and light touch massage.

Birth Preferences

There are so many options when it comes to laboring, birth and the first moments after your little one is born. If you start to google birth options, it can be overwhelming! Let’s use this session to

  • Discuss you and your partner’s overall goals for labor and birth

  • Learn what your options are (this depends on where you plan on giving birth)

  • Make choices for your birth preferences (also known as your birth plan.)

We’ll have a tidy one-pager for your birth preferences by the end of our session that you can share with your care provider.
